Argentina and Manchester City forward, Sergio Aguero has won the English Premier League Player of the Month for January.
This makes it his third EPL player award after winning the award in October 2013 and November 2014.
Aguero
started January with a towering headed goal against Watford, giving
City a 2-1 win in the process, but was unable to find the net when his
side clashed against Everton.
He then got back his scoring boots
when he scored twice in the 4-0 win over Crystal Palace and also made
another goal for team-mate David Silva. He also rescued a point for the
Ethiad side the following Saturday with his brace in the 2-2 draw away
to West Ham.
His goal against Norwich in the FA
Cup and header against Everton in the Capital One Cup don’t count
towards the award, but underline what a fantastic month Kun had.
The
City No.10 has also been nominated for the Etihad Player of the Month
award along with Kelechi Iheanacho and Bacary Sagna – you can vote here
for your favourite.
Meanwhile, Southamton manager, Ronald Koeman
wins the manager’s category of the award, after leading his side to four
victories in January, which include the January 23rd 1-0 stunner
agaainst Manchester United.
Koemaan remains the only Dutchman to
have won the award and scooped his third Barclays Manager of the Month
trophy thanks to victories by Southampton over Watford, West Bromwich
Albion and Manchester United in January.
He pipped Manuel
Pellegrini, the Man City manager, West Ham’s Slaven Bilic and Spurs head
coach Manuel Pellegrini to the accolade, which he previously won in
September 2014 and January 2015.
