Standard FC bow 12-0 to Flying Eagles in friendly



Four goals from Billy Auta ensured Manu Garba's lads tore aside the Zaria based non-league outfit in the test game played in Kaduna

Nigeria U-20 spanked Standard FC 12-0 in a warm up game played in Kaduna on Saturday.

Four goals from Billy Auta, braces from Mathias Samuel, Musa Newman and Jacob Njoku plus goals from Samuel Okon and Bernard Bulbwa were all Manu Garba's boys needed to silence the Zaria based outfit.

Sunshine Stars striker Newman opened scoring in the 14th minute with a simple tap in off a cross fromAuta.

Auta doubled his side's lead in the 26th minute when he thundered home a pass from Musa Muhammed.

Three minutes later, he got his second of the day from a cross by Mustapha Abdullahi, before Newmancompleted his brace in the 50th minute courtesy of an assist by Muhammed.

In the 44th minute, Auta completed his treble from another cross by left-back Abdullahi and six minutes later, the Al Cruziero of Kaduna striker netted a fourth goal with another assist from skipper Muhammed.

Okon then beat the offside trap to score a seventh goal in the 72nd minute, before Mathias made it 8-0 on 76 minutes.

Standard defence continued to collapse with FC Porto youngster Njoku scoring twice late on and so too Bulbwa and Mathias.

The team will be going for Christmas break on December 20 to resume a week later.
